Works on Paper 1970-1977

Arlene Slavin’s 1970s drawings and works on paper reflect a crucial site of experimentation within her geometric practice, many of which were executed during her time at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. The technical rigor and spatial fluidities of these intimate compositions earned institutional recognition when two of her works on paper were featured in the Whitney Museum of American Art’s 1973 American Drawings exhibition.
