Begun in 2020, the Intersection Portals series recontextualizes Arlene Slavin’s lifelong investigation of grid-based abstraction into expansive visual thresholds. Layering dynamic diagonal crossovers and translucent pigment washes over delicate graphite scaffolds, these mature compositions function as luminous portals that explore transient space, optical syncopation, and weightless color.
